The Landscape Research Group have written to University of Sheffield to express our most profound concern about the threatened closure of its Archaeology Department. Landscape archaeology plays a key role in understanding how people constructed their relation to their environments in the past and supports an understanding of relations in the future. The impact of the potential closure would set the field back significantly and adversely affect its importance for society.
